Objectifs
Develop written and oral expression in English through research and projects exploring the themes of losing and finding: one’s way, one’s work, one’s words and meaning. Acquire a variety of resources (books, films, theater, visual works) in English.
Contenu
In this course, students will explore wayfinding and direction in creativity, in their own work, the works of other artists, designers and authors. Mapmaking, derives, and celestial and nautical navigations will be used. Focus on walking, the figure of the flâneur, wandering and the landscape as a means of finding one's way back. Students will visit galleries and artist’s ateliers throughout. Exploring methods, experimentations.
Getting back to work, finding your own rhythm, finding resources in English for your artwork and Master's thesis.
Méthode
Discussion, interaction, reflection, creation of art and design projects, collaboration, reading, journaling, documenting (paper, video, audio, photo, words).
Savoir-faire
Spoken and written English with 4th year level art, design, textile knowledge
Évaluation
Participation. Progress in written and spoken English (no level required, only progress is assessed)
