Objectifs

Develop written and oral expression in English through research and projects exploring the themes of knowledge accessibility and availability. Acquire a variety of resources (books, films, theater, visual works) in English.

Contenu

Exploration of the power of words and knowledge, shared and hidden, using the history of witches as a case-study. Themes include uses of language in ritual, healing, fear, destruction, group-think, creation and transformation.

Thinking about and deconstructing censorship, intermediate knowledge and the margins. Performing body knowledge, empowerment.

Méthode

Oral discussion. Analysis of audio, text or video documents. Creative writing practice. Development of collaborative projects.

Ability to speak and write in English

Évaluation

Attendance and commitment to course work. Progress in written and spoken English (no level required, only progress is assessed)
